Before go to your first dog grooming session you may have some questions especially if this is your first dog, which is normal. There are couple things that you can do to prepare your dog for a life of less stressful grooming!
Brushing is one of the most important things at the grooming session for your dog. Having other people like friends, folks the dog doesn’t see every day to brush your dog, this will shows you how your dog may behave at the first grooming sessions. It seems easy however this small experience will help your dog.
Touching your dogs paws regularly and give a little message will help your dog’s first grooming experience especially while they are working on the nails. It does not have to be big message or anything just squeeze little bit as if you are practicing cutting the nails.
You can do the day of that will help make your dog’s appointment easier, if only for the groomer. Don’t feed him within a few hours of his grooming appointment and remember to take dog treats with you that your dog familiar, this little dog treats may give your dog little bit comfort.
Make sure your dog goes potty and empties before you take him inside. As you know, when a dog is stressed, it tenses up and all that squeezing of the muscles, makes him more likely to have an accident. Taking your dog outside before the grooming will prevent the accidents during dog grooming sessions.
